Isolative Determination of Narcotine in Compounded Prepartions by P.P.C. and Colorimetry

Abstract
|
|
|
We have established the isolative determination of narcotine content in the compunded preparation by P. P. C. and colorimetric determination.
We used the coloration reaction with Chloramine T for the colorimetric determination of narcotime.
In this reaction process such already existing substance as phenobarbital, chlorpheniramine, diphenhydramine, ephedrine, methylephedrine, quinine, scopolamine, atropine, thiamine, riboflavine, aminophylline, caffeine and isopropylantipyrine.
We, therefore, practised the colorimetric determination of narcotine by separating it from such interfering substances by paper partition chromatography.
We found that the concentration rage of narcotine determinable by this method is 100-500㎍/10㎖, precision of measurement is ??=1.2 and recovery of narcotine is considered to be ??=98.4%(n=9).
